Macquarie Capital strengthens debt and structured equity syndication expertise with senior hire

London, 05 April 2016

Macquarie Capital, the corporate advisory, principal investing and capital markets arm of Macquarie Group, has appointed Warrick Booth as a Managing Director in its European DCM team. Warrick will be based in London and will report to Sam Newman, Head of European DCM and Stephen Mehos, Head of US DCM.

Warrick will lead the syndication of debt and structured equity, working with the DCM and Principal Transactions teams in Europe. He will also work with the US DCM team to underwrite and distribute European tranches of DCM deals originated in the US.

He brings over two decades’ experience in investment banking, spanning markets in Europe, the UK, USA, Australia and New Zealand. This includes work in corporate lending, project finance, structured trade finance, high yield bonds and IPOs.

Warrick has held senior roles in leveraged finance, syndication and high yield at CIBC World Markets and RBC Capital Markets. He joins Macquarie Capital from ANZ Bank New Zealand where he spent almost five years as Regional Manager and as Head of Client Insights and Solutions in the Commercial and Agriculture division.

Daniel Wong, Head of Macquarie Capital Europe, commented: "We are delighted to welcome Warrick to Macquarie. Warrick’s broad syndication capabilities will be extremely valuable as we continue to grow our debt and principal investing businesses within the Financial Sponsors community."

Warrick’s appointment is the latest in a series of senior hires across Macquarie Capital Europe as the team looks to extend its offering to Financial Sponsors; including Hugh Briggs as Head of Principal Transactions in Europe in December and, more recently, Jacques Callaghan as Head of Financial Sponsors.
