Macquarie Sports
2018 Annual Review
Why it matters
Macquarie Sports provides the social, health and lifestyle benefits associated with sport to children in rural and remote communities, who may not have the same opportunity to participate in sport that their city counterparts experience.
With the help of high-profile sports people as ambassadors for the program, we aim to motivate children through sport and to date, over 200,000 kids in rural and remote communities have participated in a clinic.
In 2018*, we held 28 free community events around Australia, across seven sports, reaching 5,187 children. In addition to the clinics, Macquarie Sports offers corporate scholarships to elite young sportspeople, with over 60 transitioning through the program to date and several going on to find full time employment within Macquarie Group.
