Macquarie Investment Management (MIM) has appointed Merrick McKay as Head of European Investments in its Private Markets team. Mr McKay will be based in London, and will focus on the team’s European investment strategy, including fund and direct private equity investments.
MIM Private Markets has over £4.4 billion assets under advice globally, investing in primary funds, secondary investments and co-investments. MIM Private Markets has 36 professionals dedicated to the management and servicing of private equity portfolios across seven offices in Australia, Asia, Europe and North America on behalf of large superannuation funds, institutional clients and endowment funds globally.
Mr McKay was most recently a Partner and Chief Operating Officer with PEFOX, a UK company specialising in private equity secondary broking and derivatives activities. Prior to this, Mr McKay was a Partner and member of the Investment Committee with Primary Capital Limited where he spent 13 years. Mr McKay led or co-led a number of direct investments in the management buy-out and expansion capital sectors of the UK private equity market.
