Macquarie voted leading renewable energy analysts in Extel brokerage rankings "Awards for excellence"

Macquarie’s renewable energy analysts, Robert Schramm-Fuchs and Shai Hill, have been ranked first and third respectively in their sector in the recently released Extel brokerage rankings of top analysts. Reflecting Macquarie’s strength in renewable research, Macquarie Securities1 was also ranked second in the Top Firm category for research in the sector.

The Extel Awards recognise "best in class" analysts with a command of their industry, rigorous analysis and a commitment to client service. Macquarie prides itself on the quality of its research offering and is pleased to be selected as a leader in renewable energy research.

The research team are an important part of Macquarie’s broader capabilities in the European renewable energy sector:

  • Macquarie Capital has recently advised clients on the Sheringham Shoal, Walney 1 and Walney 2 projects of the United Kingdom’s Offshore Transmission Owner Licensee programme, and advised the Irish Infrastructure Fund managed by AMP Capital on the acquisition of a stake in Viridian’s Irish windfarm assets.
  • Macquarie Infrastructure and Real Assets manages a significant renewable energy portfolio in the UK, France, Spain, Sweden and South Africa.
  • The Fixed Income, Currencies and Commodities Environmental Financial Products team acts as a principal investor of equity and mezzanine finance in renewable energy projects, and also purchases the emissions reductions created by these assets.
