Opportunity

A competitive procurement led by the New Zealand Transport Agency (NZTA), the Puuhoi to Warkworth PPP involved the design, construction, finance and provision of services for 25 years for an 18.5km highway north of Auckland. The motorway will be open to traffic in late 2021.

Approach

Macquarie Capital acted as the financial and commercial adviser to NX2. In addition, Macquarie was involved in consortium formation and provided one of our own employees as the NX2 Project Director. Through these roles, we were able to help shape all aspects of the ultimately successful solution through independent thought leadership.

Outcome

In 2016 NX2 was awarded the contract for the project by demonstrating our understanding of the outcomes-driven New Zealand PPP market.
