Diversified regional presence with deep sector expertise

Regionally headquartered in London, Macquarie’s presence in Europe, the Middle East and Africa (EMEA) spans 22 locations across 13 markets.

Since opening the first office in London in 1989, Macquarie has grown significantly in the region to become the world's largest infrastructure manager2 and the UK’s largest smart meter funder with more than 10 million meters provided for homes and businesses.3

Since Macquarie’s acquisition of the Green Investment Group in 2017, we have also become a global leader in the transition to a greener economy. Since 2010, we have worked 150+ green energy projects including developing and managing new renewable projects, from wind power in Scandinavia to solar power in the southern Mediterranean.

With 2,409 employees, EMEA is Macquarie’s smallest region by number of people but second largest by total income.

From developing a world-class airport in Copenhagen to powering the UK using sustainable biomass, our portfolio in EMEA has continued to grow and evolve over our history.
