Macquarie strengthens and expands US transition management business with new hires

Macquarie Group (“Macquarie”) (ASX: MQG; ADR: MQBKY), today announced appointments to its Transition Management business within its Commodities and Global Markets group. Kevin Byrne joins as a Senior Vice President focused on business development and transaction management. Michelle Riffelmacher joins as a Vice President focused on business development and relationship management. Mr. Byrne and Ms. Riffelmacher will be based out of Macquarie’s New York office.

Michelle is well recognized for establishing strong client relationships, having worked across a range of equity-related products and asset classes throughout her career.”

Prior to joining Macquarie, Mr. Byrne was a Managing Director at Loop Capital Markets, where he led all aspects of its transition management business targeting corporate pension and investment consultants. Prior to that, he held a number of senior roles in transition management at Fidelity, Convergex and JP Morgan. He brings an extensive network of contacts across corporate and public pension funds, investment consultants, investment managers, endowments and foundations. Mr. Byrne earned a BA from the State University of New York at Stony Brook, and an MBA from Adelphi University. He is a CFA charterholder.

Ms. Riffelmacher was most recently a Vice President in Citigroup’s prime brokerage business, where she managed relationships with large hedge fund clients, and has held a number of senior roles in its Agency Securities Lending business, where she helped execute product development strategy across the business. Prior to Citigroup, she held roles with ClearLend Securities (acquired by Citi) and State Street Corp, where she worked both the U.S. and international equity desks. Ms. Riffelmacher earned a BA from Colby College.
