Macquarie Asset Management completes change of Manager for retail and wholesale Funds in New Zealand

On Friday 3 March 2023, the transition of Macquarie Asset Management’s (MAM) retail and wholesale funds in New Zealand to Mercer (N.Z) Limited (Mercer) was completed.

The Manager change offers strategic benefits to clients in the funds, bringing together MAM’s global investment expertise and the strength of Mercer’s well-established multi-manager platform. While Mercer already has a significant presence in the New Zealand market, a number of MAM’s funds are unique propositions that will enable Mercer to expand in both institutional and retail segments of the market.

MAM remains committed to the New Zealand market and will retain a local investment management presence with the NZ Fixed Income capability remaining in New Zealand. The Macquarie NZ Fixed Income team will continue as investment manager of the Mercer Macquarie NZ Fixed Interest Fund, Mercer Macquarie NZ Short Duration Fund and Mercer Macquarie NZ Cash Fund.

Macquarie Investment Management Global Limited (MIMGL) will also remain investment manager of Mercer Macquarie Global Listed Real Estate Fund, Mercer Macquarie Global Listed Infrastructure Fund, Mercer Macquarie Australian Shares Fund, Mercer Macquarie Global Income Opportunities Fund and Mercer Macquarie Real Return Opportunities Fund. MAM will also manage bespoke individually managed portfolios for clients in cash and fixed income, listed infrastructure, listed real estate and Australian and New Zealand equities.
