The fourth annual Foundation Week was held globally in October, with Macquarie staff and the Macquarie Group Foundation contributing more than $A2.3 million to community organisations.

Staff made the most of the ‘2 for 1’ matching available for team fundraising events during Foundation Week, with amounts up to A$5,000 double matched by the Macquarie Group Foundation. This year’s theme encouraged collaboration across business divisions as staff joined together to support causes that they felt passionately about.

Staff in Asia held fitness challenges, a talent quest and Halloween party for kids, and sold appreciation roses and bliss balls to raise money for local non-profits.

Across the Americas staff held fundraising table tennis tournaments, denim days, rowing challenges, a suit collection drives and volunteered at food banks.

In Australia staff raised money by holding games nights, Bollywood dance classes and trivia nights. They prepared meals for the homeless and painted the office of a local non-profit.

Across EMEA staff held bake sales, clothing drives, guessing competitions, cycling challenges and volunteered their time to tutor kids in maths.

In just one week, thousands of Macquarie staff were involved in more than 260 activities benefiting approximately 186 non-profits.
