Yes, all applications for roles at Macquarie must be submitted through our online application system.  This ensures our recruiters can review your application promptly and keep you updated on its progress.

2. Type in your email address and select ‘Don’t know your password?’.

3. An email will be sent to you with instructions to reset your password.

You can track the status of your application at any time by logging into our returning applicant’s portal on our website. For graduate and intern roles, response times may be longer during peak periods due to high application volumes.  We appreciate your patience while we review each application.

We offer visa sponsorship for eligible candidates in various positions at Macquarie, in accordance with local immigration rules. Your work authorisation status, along with other factors, will be considered in the selection process. Please inform us of your work authorisation status during the application process.

For graduate and interns' roles, you will need to inform us of your residency status when applying and provide any necessary supporting documents.

For experienced professional roles, you can apply for more than one role. You will need to submit separate applications for each role but will not need to re-enter the same details for each application.

It is best to limit your applications to one or two roles that match your skills and interests. If you are progressing to interview for more than one of the roles, please let your recruiter know.

For graduates and interns, we only accept one application per person as we are looking for students who are passionate about the area that they are applying to.  In your application you’ll have the opportunity to select a first and second preference.  We will process your application for the first preference and will only consider you for your second preference if we find your profile suitable for that area.

You are only able to apply for one programme due to our eligibility criteria (i.e. the Summer Internship Programme or Graduate Training Programme but not both). Please only apply for the programme you are eligible for.

Macquarie has a unique hiring process, with recruitment for some roles taking several weeks.  For graduate and intern roles, this may take longer due to the high volume of applications.

You don’t need to have experience in financial services or a finance-related degree to have a successful career at Macquarie.

The interview is intended to be a two-way process, so think of some questions you would like us to answer for you. This is also your chance to find out if Macquarie is the right fit for you.

At various stages throughout the recruitment process, you may be asked to provide feedback on your experience so far. Receiving a request for feedback does not mean that you have been unsuccessful. We appreciate any feedback that we receive to continue to improve our processes.

The deadline for the video interview will be clearly outlined to you in your invitation email and when you log into the video interview system. We will ensure we schedule this to give you plenty of time to prepare and complete the video.

Experienced hire candidates who progress to the reference check stage will be required to submit at least two references with the following criteria:

• your most recent direct manager or supervisor
• someone else who has supervised you during the past five years

Please note, personal references will not be accepted. We do not ask for references for our graduate or intern roles.

A psychometric assessment is a standard and scientific method used to measure individuals' mental capabilities and behavioural style.

There are two parts to the assessment – one measuring your cognitive ability and the other measuring your behavioural preferences.

The information generated from this assessment, in combination with all the other information gathered during the selection process, will be used to assist us in ensuring we have a comprehensive view of the match between you and the position you have applied for.

There is no pass or fail for the psychometric assessment.

You may be asked to complete the assessment from home, or to come into one of our offices to complete it. The assessment typically takes about up to two hours. If you complete the assessment at home, you may be asked to come into one of our offices to complete a verification assessment.

Make sure you are prepared. Your recruiter will send you further information about the psychometric assessment and a link to do some practice tests. The practice assessments will help you familiarise yourself with the type of assessment.

Macquarie holds candidate psychometric assessment results for two years, so if you have completed an assessment within the last two years, you will not be required to complete this again.

If you completed our psychometric assessment, you may be asked to complete a verification assessment so we can verify your previous results.

If you are invited to sit the assessment again in error, please contact our People Experience team who can advise you on next steps. We will re-review your assessment results and either progress you to the next stage of the recruitment process, or if we think you aren’t the right fit for the role you have applied for, we will inform you that we won’t be progressing with your application. Note that if we do not progress your application, we are unable to provide you with feedback at this stage.

Where applicable, you’ll receive a feedback report on your psychometric assessment in your candidate profile, typically within two days of completing assessment. The report provides general, developmental insights into your strengths and areas for growth.

Please note, feedback reports are not available for candidates applying to roles within the United States and who are based in the United States. 

If you need a reasonable adjustment/accommodation to complete the assessment (e.g., you need additional time due to a medical condition or illness), please notify your recruiter prior to starting your assessment, so that we can consider and arrange the adjustments/accommodations, if appropriate. When you make your adjustment/accommodation request, it’s helpful to specify how your medical condition or illness restricts or limits your ability to complete the assessment and describe how the specific adjustment/accommodation you request will address such restrictions or limitations. Your requested adjustment/accommodation should be based on the direction or recommendation from your healthcare provider (e.g., 15%, 25%, 50% additional time to complete the assessment). When describing your restrictions or limitations, you do not need to disclose any specific underlying medical condition, illness, or diagnosis, or share any medical records or documentation at this stage. This may be requested as we review and consider your adjustment/accommodation request, if appropriate.

Adjustments to screen display settings (such as background colour) can be managed directly by you on your chosen device.

If you are unwell, we recommend waiting until you have recovered before starting the assessment. By starting the assessment, you confirm that you are able to complete it to the best of your ability.

Students with a strong track record of academic success are encouraged to apply. You must be an undergraduate student graduating between:

• December 2026 to June 2027 for our 2027 Graduate Program
• December 2027 to June 2028 for our 2028 Graduate Program

If you plan to pursue another degree or defer your graduation date, this will impact your eligibility.

Unfortunately, PhD and MBA candidates are not eligible for our Summer Internship and Graduate Programs and will not be considered.

Applications open in January for sophomore students who are ready to commit to an offer early.

Applications will reopen in August across many of our business groups. If you applied earlier in the year, you are eligible to reapply as a junior.

We recruit on a rolling basis and recommend you submit your application as soon as possible. 

We do not offer co-op or part-time internship opportunities outside of the standard summer program.

The Summer Internship Program typically starts early June and concludes in mid-August, lasting for ten weeks.

A flexible working arrangement may include, for example, changes to hours, locations and patterns of work, or access to leave without pay, study and exam leave or a range of other flexible options dependent on circumstance and feasibility.

While Macquarie technology allows you to work from anywhere, your work location must meet our privacy, risk, security, health, and safety requirements. However, unless your role is designated as a fully remote role, when working remotely you will be expected to work from your usual place of residence in line with applicable guidance. This allows for the blend of in-person and remote working central to our hybrid working model.
