The company is a critical part of the messaging ecosystem in North America, being one of only a few carrier data services companies globally.

Macquarie Capital’s Software & Services team acted as exclusive sell-side advisor to netnumber GDS on its sale to Abry Partners. As part of a spin-out, the software solutions suite and assets within the netnumber umbrella will now operate as an independent private company, Titanium Software.

Outcome

Abry’s acquisition of netnumber GDS is expected to bolster its growth trajectory into existing and emerging markets through investment in its technology and people, as well as future strategic M&A.

The strategic split of the company's global data services and software divisions is a direct response to changing market landscapes and the related evolution of each division's independent portfolios.

The team was able to adapt the sale around the market landscape and develop a solution in which shareholders benefitted from the sale of the netnumber GDS business, while retaining exposure to, and control over, the continued growth of the Titanium Software business. Titanium Software is now positioned to exclusively focus on delivering advanced and reliable network software solutions to its global clients.
