About the program

Our Returner program provides an opportunity for you to re-integrate back into the workforce following an extended career break.

Commencing in February 2020, you will join us for 16 weeks to gain valuable experience and insight into your chosen business area.

After an in-depth induction tailored for you, you’ll work closely with the team enabling you to work in roles and on projects that match your skills and experience.

We are currently taking applications across our business groups in our New York, Philadelphia, Jacksonville and Houston offices.

To be considered for the program, you will:

Seeking to return

Be seeking to return to work following a career break of at least 2 years.

Work experience

Have previous work experience with the relevant skills or transferable skills for the business groups available.

Motivated

Be highly motivated and able to contribute to the core activities of our business.

What you can expect

  • Ongoing coaching from iRelaunch and a dedicated program manager to support you throughout the program
  • A training and orientation program tailored to your needs to help acclimate you to the work environment
  • Mentors from within your business group and from our employee network groups
  • Exposure to senior managers across the group through a variety of networking opportunities
  • A comprehensive benefits program including medical, dental, and vision as well as emergency backup child and adult/elder care, effective on the first day of employment
  • Being eligible to be considered for a permanent role at the end of the program1

Meet our returners

Jeannie Kim

After having been selected from hundreds of applicants, Macquarie’s Returner cohort is a special group, made even more so by being inaugural in the US. Those of us on the program experienced things together and were a source of strength, building a camaraderie that colleagues in each of our respective working groups could not really offer nor understand. We discussed what worked in our groups and provided each other ideas and advice on how to navigate, network and achieve. Through the cohort, I met an interesting group of talented individuals from various walks of life who are now part of my career network. This experience allowed me to discover strengths that I had which were valued among the team as well as areas that I needed to brush up on. During the Returner program, we clarified our vision for what we each desired in our careers and agreed that we were each enabled to relearn and renew our skill sets professionally and personally

Exposure to a wide variety of roles in different offices has kept my career interesting and challenging. Along with the mobility opportunities I’ve been able to take advantage of, I also took a three-year career break with my young children and was able to return to Macquarie on a part-time schedule that fits both my professional goals and personal commitments. I feel that returning to work after an extended break and being part-time has not held me back in my career. I have been promoted to Division Director this year, which shows that Macquarie is very supportive of enabling driven people who want stretch career opportunities to still be able to balance their home and work life.
