Nicholas joined Macquarie in 1986 and led the global development of its advisory, funds management, financing and securities businesses.

Appointed Chief Executive Officer in 2008, he is now leading the continued global growth of Macquarie Group as it builds on its position as one of Asia-Pacific’s leading financial services providers.

Mr Moore is Chairman of Screen Australia, Sydney Opera House Trust and the University of NSW Business School Advisory Council, and a Director of the Centre for Independent Studies.

Tim joined Macquarie in 1999 as part of the acquisition of Bankers’ Trust Australia and has more than 23 years investment banking experience. 

Macquarie’s US Country Head for four years from 2008, Tim was instrumental in Macquarie Capital’s growth in that market, leading the acquisition and integration of a number of businesses and new hires.

Tim has held a number of other leadership positions at Macquarie. He founded Macquarie’s real estate business and was its Global Head for six years. He was also Global Head of the Industrials and Financial Institutions groups.

He became global head of Macquarie Capital in January 2012.

Ben joined Macquarie in 1994 and has worked across many business lines and geographies. 

He has held roles in infrastructure investment banking and led teams with global responsibility for on-balance sheet equity and credit investing. 

Ben was appointed Global Head of the Macquarie Corporate Asset and Finance lending team in 2009 and Co-Head of the Corporate and Asset Finance Group in 2012.

Andrew joined Macquarie in 1985 and has been instrumental in the growth of the Commodities and Financial Markets business over the past three decades.

After roles in the Futures and Bullion business, Andrew became Joint Head of Bullion and Commodities in 1993. He was appointed Head of Commodities and Financial Markets in 1997.

Building on Commodities and Financial Markets foundations in Australia and New Zealand, he has driven its expansion to become a global portfolio of businesses across commodity and financial markets. The platform now offers over 160 products across more than 25 markets.

Under Andrew’s leadership, Commodities and Financial Markets has expanded to include energy markets such as North American Gas & Power, European Gas & Power and Global Oil; US credit markets; freight; and Asian markets; as well as a broad spectrum of physical commodity trading and financing.

In November 2016 Andrew was appointed Head of Commodities and Global Markets (CGM) following the merger of Macquarie Securities Group and Commodities and Financial Markets.

CGM brings together Macquarie's highly regarded execution, research, derivatives, trading, fixed income, foreign exchange and commodities businesses to provide clients with an integrated, end-to-end service across global markets.

Garry Farrell

Garry joined Macquarie in 1986, working extensively in originating, structuring and executing transactions for global clients.

He has been heavily involved in developing new businesses for Macquarie.

He was Head of Macquarie’s European Investment Banking operations, leading the rapid growth of that business, and has originated and developed businesses in Japan, South Africa, Ireland, Europe, the UK and US.

As Co-Head of Corporate and Asset Finance Group, Garry has responsibility for providing asset finance solutions to retail, corporate and government clients in more than 40 countries.

Alex Harvey

Alex Harvey is the Chief Financial Officer of Macquarie Group. He is also the Executive Chairman of Macquarie Group in Asia.  

Before being appointed CFO, Alex was the Global Head of the Principal Transaction Group in Macquarie Capital and a member of Macquarie Capital’s Management Committee. 

Alex was the first Chief Executive Officer of Macquarie’s operations in Asia where he was responsible for a business with more than 3,400 staff across 14 locations. 

Alex has more than 20 years experience in the financial services industry across Australia, Asia, Europe and the United States. 

In August 2015, Alex was appointed Chairman of the Police Citizens Youth Clubs NSW Board. Alex is also a Board member of High Resolves. 

Alex holds a Master of Commerce, Bachelor of Economics from Sydney University and is a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants.

Nick joined Macquarie in 1995 and has more than 20 years’ experience in global commodity and financial markets.

As Head of Commodity Markets and Finance, Nick is responsible for Macquarie's financial trading, risk management, structured financing and equity, and physical trading and logistics activities in oil and oil products, petrochemicals, natural gas, power, uranium, coal, agriculture and metals products. He manages a team of more than 500 professionals in more than 20 offices around the world.

Nick was appointed Head of the Energy Markets Division in 2007 and under his leadership, Macquarie's energy markets business has expanded through both organic growth and acquisitions to become a significant market participant.

In April 2017, Nick was appointed Head of Commodity Markets and Finance following the merger of Macquarie’s Energy Markets and Metals, Mining and Agriculture divisions.

Mary Reemst

Mary joined Macquarie in 1999, having held senior investment banking roles at Bankers Trust Australia.

She was Head of Credit in the Risk Management Group for 11 years, with oversight of the Macquarie’s wholesale and retail exposures, including lending, trading activities, equity investments and new products.

Mary was appointed Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Macquarie’s banking subsidiary, Macquarie Bank, in July 2014.

She is a Director of the Australian Bankers’ Association, the Australian Financial Markets Association and the Financial Markets Foundation for Children.

Nicole joined Macquarie’s Finance Department in 1996 and has more than 20 years experience in accounting and financial services.

In 1998 Nicole moved into Macquarie Capital where she led the deal business management and sales team.

In 2008 she moved into the Corporate Affairs Group to support the Chief Financial Officer and then became Head of Human Resources.

In 2011, she became Group Head of the newly created Corporate Services Group bringing together three of Macquarie’s key service areas: Human Resources, Business Services and Business Improvement and Strategy. The Group grew to become the Corporate Operations Group in 2013 and now also includes Technology, Market Operations and Shared Services Centres.

Nicole was appointed Chief Operating Officer on 1 January 2013.

Patrick Upfold

Patrick joined Macquarie in 1997 and has more than 25 years' experience in finance and financial services.

He was Chief Financial Officer and Head of the Financial Management Group for six years before being appointed Chief Risk Officer and Head of Risk Management Group in January 2018.

The Risk Management Group is the central risk management function within Macquarie overseeing Credit, Prudential, Capital and Markets, Market Risk, Operational Risk, Compliance and Quantitative Applications.  The Chief Risk Officer also manages the Internal Audit function jointly with the Board Audit Committee.

Patrick’s previous experience also includes leading the Group Financial Management division, which has primary responsibility for managing Macquarie’s capital position, and a period as Group Treasurer.

In addition, Patrick has held senior business positions in Macquarie Capital, working across project, asset and structured finance transactions.

Greg Ward

Greg joined Macquarie when it was publicly listed in 1996 and has over 27 years experience in finance and financial services. 

He was Chief Financial Officer for 14 years before being appointed Deputy Managing Director of Macquarie Group and Chief Executive Officer of its banking subsidiary, Macquarie Bank. 

Greg became Head of Banking and Financial Services Group in July 2013 and has driven the growth of Macquarie’s retail financial services business.

He is also Chairman of the Australian Brandenburg Orchestra and a Board member of the Macquarie University Council.

Shemara joined Macquarie in 1987 and worked in Macquarie Capital for 20 years before being appointed Head of Macquarie Asset Management in 2008.

As Head of the Macquarie Infrastructure and Real Assets business in New York for four years from 2004, Shemara led the establishment of Macquarie’s infrastructure funds in the US and Canada.

Before that, she led Macquarie Capital’s prudential team for four years, reviewing all transactions in which the business took a principal position. She also established and led Macquarie’s corporate advisory offices in New Zealand, Hong Kong and Malaysia.
