Opportunity
For more than a decade, Macquarie Capital has used its balance sheet to invest in the technology companies providing solutions that deliver critical services to support national security efforts.
Macquarie Capital’s Growth & Technology investing team makes targeted investments, working with those companies to grow their capabilities and service their customers to the best of their abilities, which includes identifying ways technology can be beneficial in a defense sector setting.
With a longstanding track record of investing within the US federal services sector, Macquarie Capital acquired data systems and technology company ERT in May 2024.
Seeking to further diversify and expand its existing capabilities in the sector, while backing ERT’s continued growth and the expansion of its client base and capabilities, Macquarie Capital supported ERT’s acquisition of Sev1Tech in February 2026.
Sev1Tech is known for supporting US government organizations as they modernize legacy systems, enhance cyber resilience and accelerate digital adoption across complex enterprise environments.
The acquisition created a premier space-and-satellite-focused federal IT services firm with the capabilities, clearances and contract vehicles to lead the fast-growing corners of the US defense budget. The combined companies rebranded to Entarian in May 2026.
Approach
From both the enterprise to the tactical edge, Entarian integrates data-driven technology solutions to solve some of the most demanding defense and federal civilian missions.
Entarian’s technologies allow organizations to work smarter, faster and more securely to maximize impact.
Headquartered in Maryland, Entarian’s clients include the United States Department of Homeland Security, Air Force, Navy, Space Force, NASA and the National Oceanic Atmospheric Administration.

Outcome
Through the acquisition of Sev1Tech, the evolution of ERT to Entarian positions it as the premier space-and-satellite-focused federal IT services firm with the ability to deliver secure, mission-aligned digital solutions to support modernization, resilience and operational effectiveness for government customers operating in highly regulated mission environments.
Entarian has deep relationships with US federal agencies, a large and growing pipeline and a strong culture of innovation.”
