Opportunity

Vigor Marine Group is a leading provider of marine maintenance, repair and overhaul services, marine fabrication and related solutions for the naval, defense and commercial maritime sectors.

The company operates shipyard and fabrication facilities across six locations in the US.

Having built a scaled platform serving critical maritime infrastructure, Vigor Marine Group is well positioned to capitalize on growing demand from government and commercial customers.

After growing the business into one of the leading providers of marine services and integrated it into a single brand and operating platform, Lone Star sought a new owner. The buyer needed to recognize the long-term, resilient, cash flow generation of the business and be able to support the company's next phase of growth.

Approach

Macquarie Capital's Aerospace, Defense & Government Services and Infrastructure Advisory teams worked together to position Vigor Marine Group as a differentiated platform serving essential defense and maritime end markets.

Our teams highlighted the company's national footprint, strong customer relationships and critical role supporting the US Navy, Coast Guard and commercial maritime operations. They also showcased Vigor Marine Group’s scale, track record of growth and exposure to favorable long-term trends driving investment across the US maritime sector.

Vigor Marine Group was one of a select group of companies invited to participate in Macquarie Capital's 2025 Core+ Crossover Summit, providing an opportunity for management to engage directly with leading infrastructure investors, including the eventual acquirer, Antin Infrastructure Partners. The company's inclusion, and the engagement with leading infrastructure investors, reflected growing investor interest in essential maritime services businesses and highlighted Vigor Marine Group's role supporting critical defense and maritime infrastructure.

Outcome

Antin Infrastructure Partners, a leading private equity firm focused on infrastructure investments, acquired Vigor Marine Group, positioning the company for its next phase of growth as it looks to continue to expand capacity.

The transaction demonstrates growing investor interest in infrastructure-adjacent businesses that provide essential services to critical industries. It also reinforces the strength of the investment case for maritime services platforms supporting the modernization and maintenance of critical US defense and transportation infrastructure.
