Technological breakthroughs require intelligence, diligence and, perhaps, a dash of divine inspiration. But, before revolutionary technologies experience broad societal adoption, there is often another requirement: infrastructure.
Infrastructure investing usually conjures up images of large scale assets like toll roads and airports. In this research insight we will look to the future, discussing the impact of technology on three infrastructure sectors experiencing meaningful technological change; communications infrastructure, rail and toll roads. The paper examines the impact of changing technology on the sectors and implications for infrastructure investors.
