2019 | In May, PGGM Infrastructure Fund commits to a 25% interest in Macquarie AirFinance. This is followed in December by a commitment from Sunsuper to take a 25% interest, with Macquarie retaining the remaining 50%. Both transactions complete successfully following receipt of required regulatory approvals. |
Macquarie AirFinance is owned by Macquarie Group (50%), PGGM Infrastructure Fund (25%) and Sunsuper (25%). PGGM and Sunsuper joined Macquarie as shareholders in 2019 to support the company’s strategy of continued investment and growth in the aircraft operating lease sector.

Industry experience: 27 Years
Liam joined Macquarie AirFinance in 2011 and has global responsibility for airline relationships and aircraft trading.
Prior to his appointment at Macquarie, Liam served as Managing Director and Head of Aircraft Finance for Lloyds Banking Group from 2008, and prior to that as Head of Aircraft Finance for HBOS plc with responsibility for the Bank’s commercial aviation financing activities globally.
Liam started his aircraft finance career in 1990 with National Westminster Bank, serving 10 years in corporate and investment banking.
With more than 25-years international aviation experience Liam has a successful track record in leadership positions spanning commercial aircraft finance, sales, acquisitions and leasing.
Industry experience: 12 years
Eamonn is responsible for all technical aspects of managing the Macquarie AirFinance aircraft portfolio.
Prior to joining Macquarie AirFinance, Eamonn worked in Macquarie Aviation Capital as a Technical Manager with responsibility for managing Macquarie Aviation Capital’s spare engine operating lease portfolio.
Eamonn has also worked in the Technical Services department of SR Technics as a Powerplant Development Engineer, providing base maintenance support and technical services for various airline fleets.
Eamonn holds a Bachelor of Engineering Degree in Mechatronics from Dublin City University.
Industry experience: 25 Years
Stephen has been General Counsel of Macquarie AirFinance since 2006.
Before joining Macquarie AirFinance, Stephen served as Assistant General Counsel of GATX Financial Corporation where he worked for 11 years.
Stephen also practised law at Clifford Chance in London, Tokyo and Frankfurt for 10 years, where he advised clients on asset finance, corporate lending and project finance transactions.
Stephen received a Bachelor of Laws degree from King's College, London University, and is admitted as a Solicitor in England and Wales.
Industry experience: 17 Years
In addition to directing the Credit Department, Will oversees the Compliance, Operations Risk and Portfolio Management functions for the company.
Before joining Macquarie, Will worked at aircraft lessor AWAS for 5 ½ years where he held positions in Risk Management and Portfolio Management. Prior to AWAS, Will worked in Rolls-Royce Civil Aerospace for 8 years in the UK, Singapore, Australia and the US.
Will holds a First Class Honours Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering from University College Dublin, and received a distinction for his Master of Science Degree in Aerospace from the University of Bristol.
Industry experience: 16 Years
Sharon was Director of Tax and Vice President – Corporate Finance at GATX Financial Corporation.
Sharon also spent five years as Director of Tax at Bank of the West, where she was involved with the integration of four acquired entities.
Sharon has a Bachelor of Business Administration (Accounting), a Master of Professional Accounting (Tax) from the University of Texas and holds a CPA.
Industry Experience: 12 years
Michael is responsible for financial analysis, treasury and capital markets at Macquarie AirFinance.
Prior to joining Macquarie AirFinance, Michael worked at Macquarie Group where he was involved in the development and oversight of the Group’s transportation finance businesses, including Macquarie AirFinance.
Michael holds a Masters of Finance degree from INSEAD and Bachelor of Economics and Commerce degrees from the University of Western Australia.
Industry experience: 12 Years
Edwin has marketing responsibility for the Asia-Pacific region.
He has previously worked in the aircraft sales team at Singapore Airlines, as Head of Aerospace in the Singapore Economic Development Board developing and executing strategies to grow the Singapore aerospace industry, and as Senior Director, Leasing with AerCap with responsibilities throughout Asia-Pacific.
Edwin holds a Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering degree from the National University of Singapore.
Industry experience: 18 Years
Bruce has marketing responsibility throughout Latin America and the Caribbean.
He joined Macquarie AirFinance on its inception in 2006 after 10 years at GATX Air. Bruce has also worked at Boeing as Sales Director responsible for Brazil, Bolivia and Uruguay and later for worldwide marketing and has held positions at Embraer and Mitsubishi Aircraft International.
Bruce holds a Bachelor of Aerospace Engineering degree from Georgia Institute of Technology.
Industry experience: 17 Years
Stephen has marketing responsibility for Europe, the Middle East and Africa.
He has held numerous roles across the aviation industry, including as Vice President Origination with Amentum Capital (HSH Nordbank), Vice President Sales and Marketing with Macquarie Aviation Capital and Marketing Analyst with Orix Aviation.
Stephen holds an Honours Master's degree in European Economics and Public Affairs from University College in Dublin and an Honours Degree in Political Science from Trinity College in Dublin.
Industry experience: 12 Years
Ronan has marketing responsibility for France, Benelux, Eastern and Central Europe, Turkey, Russia CIS and North Africa.
He joined Macquarie AirFinance in 2010 as Vice President, Risk Management, before joining the marketing team in 2014. Ronan has held risk and marketing positions at CIT Aerospace International and Orix Aviation and was a sales executive at Aerospace Industries Limited.
Ronan holds a Bachelor of Business and Finance Honours degree from Dublin City University.
Industry experience: 10 years
Anna has marketing responsibility for the Asia Pacific region.
Anna joined Macquarie in 2016 and served as Vice President, Risk Management for the Asia Pacific region, before joining the marketing team. Her previous experience includes airline sales and marketing at Bombardier Commercial Aircraft (Singapore) covering the Southeast Asia and Oceania regions, and a range of finance roles at Qantas Airways including fleet and network planning, and financial planning and analysis. Anna began her career at PwC in Sydney.
Anna holds a Bachelor of Business degree from the University of Technology Sydney, Australia and holds a CA with the Chartered Accountants of Australia & New Zealand.
Matthew has responsibility for our airline relationships in North America.
Prior to joining Macquarie, Matthew held various roles in the sales, marketing, and engineering groups at Bombardier Commercial Aircraft over a 10-year career in Montreal and Toronto. Most recently, Matthew was Director of Sales with responsibility for Bombardier’s relationships with commercial aircraft leasing companies.
Matthew holds a Bachelor’s degree in Applied Science (Mechanical Engineering) with honours from Queen’s University in Kingston, Canada.
Mark was appointed to the role of Vice President, Trading in 2017 based in Dublin. Reporting to the Chief Commercial Officer, Mark has responsibility as part of a broader portfolio management strategy for the sale of aircraft within the Macquarie AirFinance fleet and the purchase of aircraft from lessors, financial institutions and other investors.
He joined Macquarie in 2015 and prior to his Trading role he served as Vice President, Risk Management for the EMEA region.
Mark came to Macquarie from Apollo Aviation where he led the company’s credit department. Prior to that, Mark worked in Apollo’s corporate finance unit with responsibilities covering a range of transaction pricing, financial modelling and business forecasting activities.
Mark holds a Masters in Finance from the UCD Michael Smurfit Graduate Business School and an Honours Degree in Business and Law from University College Dublin.
