Why infrastructure debt
12 Apr 2019
In early 2012 Macquarie established the Macquarie Infrastructure Debt Investment Solutions (MIDIS) platform to leverage the infrastructure expertise within Macquarie into an investor-aligned global infrastructure debt investment management business. Watch the video as the team discuss successes, key transactions and the potential for future investments in the sector.
Global deal flow across all transaction sizes and infrastructure subsectors
Tailored exposure through a range of structures
Fixed rate, floating rate and inflation-linked debt opportunities
Targeting market segments where competition is lower to achieve higher returns for clients without increasing portfolio risk
Understanding of specific investor needs and regulatory frameworks
Market leading systems and flexible reporting
MIDIS follows the principles outlined in an order execution policy to ensure we consider all relevant execution factors when trading on behalf of our clients. Further information can be found in the attached policy.
Shareholder Rights Directive II Disclosure
Article 3(g) of Directive 2007/36/EC as amended by Directive (EU) 2017/828 (together with the relevant national implementing regulations, the “SRD”) requires asset managers to adopt on a “comply or explain” basis an engagement policy describing how an asset manager integrates its investment strategy relating to shareholder engagement in companies that have a registered office in the EU and are listed on EU regulated markets (“EU investee companies”).
Macquarie Private Debt Europe Limited (“MPDEL”) is an asset manager for the purposes of the SRD. MPDEL does not actively invest as part of its investment strategy in the shares of EU investee companies. Any shares in EU investee companies would only be held as an investment ancillary to, or as a result of, a credit investment. On this basis, MPDEL has determined that it is not appropriate to adopt an engagement policy for the purposes of the SRD.
