Which business groups are recruiting Graduates and Interns this year?
The number of positions we offer each year depends on a number of factors such as market conditions and quality of applications. The following business groups at Macquarie are currently interested in hiring graduates and/or interns for summer 2018:

- Macquarie Asset Management (MAM)
- Corporate and Asset Finance (CAF)
- Commodities and Global Markets (CGM)
- Corporate Operations Group (COG)
- Risk Management Group (RMG)
When does the graduate programme start?
The graduate programme starts in August 2018.
When does the intern programme start and finish?
The intern programme typically starts in late June and finishes in August 2018.
In what locations are graduate and intern opportunities available?
The majority of our positions are located in London, with some opportunities in Frankfurt and Munich depending on business needs.
What training and career development does Macquarie offer?
All businesses offer an induction and training programme complimented by a rich learning curriculum to aid development. Training and career development vary slightly depending on the business area. On the job training will give you the confidence and skills so you can own your career.
The intern programme starts with a comprehensive induction to our organisation and the business groups you will be joining. We also provide you with the technical training to enable you to hit the ground running as an intern – so you have the best opportunity to own your success at Macquarie.
What type of education or work experience background do I need to work at Macquarie?
Macquarie is a diverse business and we look for candidates with a broad range of qualifications and work experience. We look for entrepreneurial performers who thrive in a diverse culture and value forward thinking.
What grades do I need?
We look for students with a strong academic background. While we don’t require a certain amount of UCAS points we do look for graduates and interns who are on track for a 2:1 and above.
Do you offer Visa sponsorship?
Yes, we are able to offer Visa sponsorship to successful candidates. However, it is your responsibility to inform us of your residency status when applying.
Is the online application process the only way to apply for roles?
Yes, Macquarie only accepts applications through our online process.

What is the recruitment process?
Successful candidates go through the following process:
- a review of your application by the graduate recruitment team
- a video interview
- completing a psychometric assessment
- at least one business interview
- reference checks and employment screening.
When will I hear if I have been successful?
After your final interview your recruiter should give you an estimated timeframe of when you will be contacted with regarding feedback from your interview.
How should I prepare for a graduate or intern interview?
You will be given an outline of what you can expect from each interview from the graduate recruitment team. Ensure you have carefully researched Macquarie and the business area you have applied for, think about why you want to work for us and what you can bring to the business. Expect to be asked questions relating to the skills and competencies relevant for the role and show your enthusiasm for the industry.
