Macquarie Capital Advisers is pleased to announce that Willem Jansonius has joined its team as a Managing Director. A former Investment Director at Cyrte Investments and Senior Vice President at ABN Amro, Mr Jansonius will be based in Amsterdam and focus on building the presence of Macquarie Capital Advisers in the Benelux.
His appointment adds to a number of high profile hirings by Macquarie Capital Advisers over the few past months as it continues to build out its European presence.
Willem has 12 years’ experience in investment banking and private equity, focusing on mergers and acquisitions, restructuring and investment management. As a Director of ABN Amro’s M&A Advisory unit, where he worked for nine years in both Amsterdam and Brussels, Willem advised on high profile deals across Europe, including transactions in the telecommunications, industrial and utilities sectors.
More recently, as Investment Director at the Delta Lloyd owned Cyrte Investments, Willem was involved in a number of equity and debt transactions, including the acquisition of a substantial stake in Endemol, the Dutch TV production company. At Cyrte and, most recently his own company Blaeu Capital, Willem was responsible for successfully planning and executing substantial strategic change and restructuring programmes for a number major media and industrial companies.
