Technology enables every aspect of our business. Our Technology team comprises over 3,000 people based all around the globe working on delivering innovative technological solutions and empowering people to innovate and invest for a better future.

Each of the core technology teams are responsible for technology that supports all of our businesses globally. 

Identity and Cyber Security Technology 

​The Identity and Cyber Security (ICS) Technology team provides a safe and responsive environment that enables Macquarie to pursue opportunities with confidence. From a global footprint, ICS services enable our customers to trust in the integrity of Macquarie by preparing for, protecting against and responding to cyber threats.​ 

Infrastructure and Personal Technology 

Infrastructure Technology is responsible for the management and operation of core technology services underpinning our business applications and services. Teams are aligned to support the successful delivery of the Technology strategy, focusing on Cloud Services, Automation Services, Foundation Services and Enterprise Services. 

Enterprise Technology

Enterprise Technology brings together technology delivery and support for Financial Management Group (including Corporate Affairs), Risk Management Group and Corporate Operations Group (including Business Services Division and Human Resources) and Legal. The team also supports the service to provide Macquarie employees with the best digital experience including Macquarie.com and digital productivity apps and play a critical role in the execution of our Enterprise Data and Digitalisation Strategy. Enterprise Technology operate out of Sydney, Manila, Gurugram, New York, London and Jacksonville hubs.

Global Security and Fraud 

The Global Security and Fraud team is dedicated to protecting the security of Macquarie’s people, assets, reputation and confidentiality of client information. They are involved in managing staff travel security, office security, information security and crisis management. 

They also manage and regularly review Macquarie’s Global Security policy, which confirms corporate security roles and responsibilities and presents a governance framework for security risk management and risk acceptance at Macquarie. 

Enterprise Information Management (EIM) 

The EIM team’s vision is to realise value through trusted data: easy access to fit for purpose data; complete, accurate and timely regulatory reporting; and defensible record retention and disposal. 

The team sets the enterprise-wide data strategy and owns the Enterprise Data Management, Regulatory Reporting and Records Management frameworks. EIM drive capability uplift to ensure the frameworks and practices are effectively applied via Group-aligned data teams with the COG Group Data Officer team also part of the EIM team. 

These teams are responsible for ensuring that their global business technology needs are being met. Here’s what that means for each of the businesses: 

Banking and Financial Services Technology 

The Banking and Financial Services (BFS) Technology team support the Australian-based business in an agile operating model with dedicated teams aligned to each of the three BFS business channels (Personal Banking, Business Banking and Wealth). The business has a diverse range of wealth management products and services to financial advisers, stockbrokers, mortgage brokers, professional service industries and retail clients. 

Over recent years the technology team have been progressively re-architecting the technology landscape to support the business’ goal to become the #1 digital bank in Australia. 

Commodity and Global Markets Technology 

Commodity and Global Markets (CGM) Technology provides clients with an integrated, end-to-end offering across global markets including equities, fixed income, foreign exchange and commodities. CGM is a global business, and the technology team is located around the world alongside it to align with the main business lines (Commodity Markets & Finance, Equity Derivatives and Trading, Fixed Income and Currencies, Credit Markets, Structured Global Markets, Futures, Quantitative Index Strategies and Sales & Research). 

Macquarie Asset Management Technology 

Macquarie Asset Management (MAM) Technology is responsible for the overall delivery and operation of technology services across the Macquarie Asset Management businesses. Operating out of six international hubs – Philadelphia, Sydney, Manila, Gurugram, Vienna and Seoul – the MAM Technology team delivers and supports solutions across the MAM global business divisions. 

Macquarie Capital Technology 

The Macquarie Capital Technology team is responsible for technology strategy, service delivery, platforms and programs as they continue investment in their technology transformation. This includes platforms supporting our corporate advisory services and equity, debt and principal capital markets.
