Jude Mazon helps teams embed environmental, social and ethical considerations into everyday supplier engagement. His work supports Macquarie’s modern slavery regulatory obligations through supplier assurance activities that help drive continuous improvement. He also contributes to Macquarie’s supplier diversity ambition by partnering with teams across the organisation to create inclusive, long‑term supplier relationships.
Our role is to help the business manage environmental and social risks by embedding these considerations into everyday procurement decision-making. We support teams through practical frameworks, meaningful data and hands-on guidance, enabling confident supplier engagement while managing risk and delivering strong commercial outcomes.
A key part of this is our supplier assurance program, also known as supplier audits, which help the business identify and address human rights risks in our supply chain. Rather than focusing solely on compliance, we aim to work collaboratively with suppliers to uplift their practices and address identified issues over time.
My work directly influences how Macquarie engages with suppliers globally. I lead the delivery of our supplier assurance and audit activities, identifying potential human rights and environmental concerns. I also support our suppliers to implement meaningful corrective actions where relevant.
This work goes beyond risk management; it contributes to improvements in governance, worker protections and transparency across our supply chain. It also strengthens Macquarie’s ability to grow responsibly while maintaining our commitment to respect human rights.
Another key part of my role is to support our supplier diversity commitment. Macquarie has a goal of reaching $A150 million in global spend with diverse suppliers by 2030. This involves partnering closely with teams to identify opportunities where diverse suppliers can engage with Macquarie, add value and build long term relationships.
I’ve been trusted by my leaders and peers to take ownership of initiatives and build new capability where it’s needed. That trust has opened opportunities to contribute in new ways - from shaping our supplier assurance approach to leading cross‑functional work linked to sustainability and social impact.
A big part of my growth comes from being supported to bring forward new ideas. For example, I launched Let’s Talk ASAP (As Sustainable as Possible), an internal learning series featuring guest speakers who unpack key sustainability themes, from social enterprise engagement to modern slavery and supplier decarbonisation. The learning series is designed to make sustainability practical, accessible and relevant to people’s day‑to‑day roles.
I’ve also been empowered to represent Macquarie externally and contribute internally through our Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP) Working Group, and our first internal Indigenous Trade Fair. These opportunities have broadened my perspective, strengthened my capabilities and helped me build a career aligned with my skills, purpose and values.
Wellbeing at Macquarie is supported through flexibility, trust and a culture that recognises different life stages and personal circumstances. This support made a difference when I relocated from Manila to Sydney - helping me settle into a new environment while continuing to deliver and stay connected to my team and stakeholders. In a role that can be complex and fast-paced, this flexibility has been critical in helping me balance professional responsibilities with personal wellbeing.
Additionally, I’m supported by Macquarie’s encouragement of purpose-led initiatives. Opportunities like volunteering with ReLove, which supports families transitioning out of crisis, and participating in Macquarie’s festive season market where proceeds from social enterprise product sales support the Women's Community Shelters' network.
Being able to step away from day-to-day work to contribute to the community has had a genuine, positive impact on my wellbeing by creating space for connection, perspective and gratitude - and reflects our culture where people are encouraged to give their time and energy to causes they care about.
I would describe my peers as collaborative, curious and purpose-driven. People are willing to share knowledge, challenge ideas respectfully and support each other to deliver outcomes. What I value most is trust and openness. You’re encouraged to step up, take ownership and keep learning, while feeling supported by the team around you.
