Regionally headquartered in London, Macquarie’s presence in Europe, the Middle East and Africa (EMEA) spans 22 locations across 13 markets.
Since opening the first office in London in 1989, Macquarie has grown significantly in the region to become the world's largest infrastructure manager2 and the UK’s largest smart meter funder with more than 10 million meters provided for homes and businesses.3
Since Macquarie’s acquisition of the Green Investment Group in 2017, we have also become a global leader in the transition to a greener economy. Since 2010, we have worked 150+ green energy projects including developing and managing new renewable projects, from wind power in Scandinavia to solar power in the southern Mediterranean.
With 2,409 employees, EMEA is Macquarie’s smallest region by number of people but second largest by total income.

Home to our EMEA headquarters, Ropemaker Place, London features an open atrium where the bright red feature staircase and upper-level steel catwalks link the various floors. The building also features a rooftop herb garden, an internal kitchen and café selling specialist barista-made coffee.
