New partnership for business mentoring programme in London
London, 20 January 2015
Macquarie staff in London will mentor 21 school students as part of a program designed to help students learn more about the workplace, subject choices, accessing courses and applying for university.
Now in its third year, the mentoring program will match senior students aged 16 and 17 from City and Islington College with 18 Macquarie employees.
2015 is the first year that Macquarie has partnered with the City and Islington College. The College’s head of careers for sixth form, Jo Bishop, says the program enables students to become familiar with a corporate environment.
“This will help them make important choices over the next 12 months,” she says.
“Coming into Macquarie’s offices on a regular basis to meet with their mentors will build real confidence and insight, which cannot always be taught in the classroom.”
