The recruitment process


Application opening and closing dates are listed on our website. During application opening dates, apply for the programmes using our online application form. You will be required to submit some details about yourself, as well as your resume and cover letter. You’ll receive an auto-generated email to let you know we’ve received your application.


Resume screen

Your resume will be screened by our Graduate Recruitment Team and successful candidates will receive an invitation to complete a psychometric assessment.


Psychometric assessment

The next stage of the process is typically a psychometric assessment, a standard and scientific method used to measure individuals' mental capabilities and behavioural style.

There are two parts to the assessment – one measuring your cognitive ability and the other measuring your behavioural preferences.

The information generated from this assessment, in combination with the other information gathered during the selection process, will be used to assist us in ensuring we have a comprehensive view of the match between you and the position you have applied for.

There is no pass or fail for the psychometric assessment.

You may be asked to complete the assessment from home, or to come into one of our offices to complete it. It typically takes about an hour. If you complete the assessment at home, you may be asked to come into one of our offices to complete a verification assessment.

Your recruiter will send you further information about the psychometric assessment and a link to practice tests. The practice assessments will help you familiarise yourself with the nature of the assessment.


Video interview

If you are proceeding to the next round in the recruitment process, you’ll receive an invitation to complete a video interview. More information will be provided by the Graduate Recruitment Team prior to commencing the interview.


Further interview/s

Following your initial interview, you may be invited to attend further interviews with members of our team. The number of interviews required will depend on the team you are applying for.



After your final interview your recruiter will give you an estimated timeframe of when you will be contacted regarding feedback from your interview.


Reference checking and employment screening

If you receive an offer from Macquarie, you will be required to complete reference checks and employment screening before you commence.
