Macquarie Group ("Macquarie") (ASX: MQG; ADR: MQBKY) today announced the appointment of Vikas Dwivedi, who joins as Global Oil & Gas Economist. This key appointment provides Macquarie and its clients with equities and commodities expertise, analysis and advice.
Mr. Dwivedi, who is based in Macquarie's Houston office, has more than 13 years of buy and sell-side experience in the oil, gas and power sectors, covering equities and commodities research, commodity derivatives and commercial project management. He joins from BTU Capital Management, where he led its trading and research efforts in crude oil and natural gas markets and was previously at Quantum Energy Partners, Morgan Stanley and Prudential Equity Group in a variety of equities research roles.

The appointments follow Macquarie's recent announcement of three senior US research appointments in steel, metals & mining, banks, and consumer & specialty retail.
Macquarie's US equities team works in close coordination with counterparts in Canada, Europe and the Asia-Pacific region to deliver global sector coverage, joint thematic research and rigorous companies analysis to clients. Macquarie Securities, one of the world's largest research houses by number of companies under coverage, currently covers approximately 226 energy stocks through 34 energy analysts.
