Macquarie appoints Peter Taylor as Head of Commodity Desk Strategy

Macquarie’s Commodities and Global Markets business today announced that Peter Taylor has been appointed Head of Commodity Desk Strategy, effective from November 1.

Mr Taylor brings nearly two decades of experience across commodities trading and financing. He joined Macquarie in 2014, where he managed the Singapore oil desk. He led derivatives and physical financing across the Asia-Pacific region before moving to Geneva in 2019. He began his career at Barclays, holding roles in commodities trading, structuring, and investment banking in both London and Singapore.

Based in Geneva, Mr Taylor will lead a team of eleven commodity strategists across offices in Houston, London, Shanghai, Singapore, and Gurugram. In addition to his new responsibilities, he will continue as head of Macquarie's Geneva office.

Mr Taylor will report to Daniel Vizel and Erik Petersson, Global Co-Heads of Commodities at Macquarie. Commenting on the appointment, they said: "We are pleased to welcome Peter into this role.
