BrisConnections update

Following today’s ASX update by BrisConnections (ASX: BCS), Macquarie Group (ASX: MQG; ADR: MQBKY) notes the following:

• Macquarie Group currently holds 178,147,059 stapled securities in BrisConnections.
• At its last reporting date (30 September 2012), the carrying value of Macquarie’s investment in BrisConnections was substantially below the issue price of the stapled securities and its then market price.
• In the event the current carrying value of Macquarie Group’s investment in BrisConnections needs to be impaired, partly or wholly, the impact on future results is not expected to be material.
