Macquarie Group today announced the five winners of the Macquarie 50th Anniversary Award, a $A50 million philanthropic commitment that seeks to initiate or support projects that address an area of unmet social need.

Macquarie’s Green Investment Group (GIG) has entered into an agreement, subject to the satisfaction of customary completion conditions, to acquire a 40% stake in the East Anglia ONE (EA1) offshore wind farm from ScottishPower Renewables (UK) Limited, a subsidiary company of the Iberdrola group. GIG has secured debt financing from the market to assist in funding its investment.

Macquarie Infrastructure and Real Assets (“MIRA”), via a Macquarie European Infrastructure Fund 5 led consortium, has agreed to acquire Ocean Breeze Energy, the owner of North Sea wind farm BARD Offshore 1, from Unicredit.

Bayer and LANXESS sell their stakes in the chemical park operator Currenta to funds managed by Macquarie Infrastructure and Real Assets (MIRA), the world's largest infrastructure investor. Both companies signed corresponding agreements with MIRA today, August 6, 2019. The transaction still requires the approval of the responsible authorities.
