Meet the non-profits Macquarie supports in London, New York City, Manila and Delhi
Global, 05 December 2014
Macquarie’s ‘engaged philanthropy’ approach focuses on deepening links to community organisations that staff choose to support.
Where there is significant staff fundraising for, or volunteering at, an organisation - including through pro bono service or executive board membership - the Foundation looks to strengthen that partnership with a supporting grant.
This makes a dramatic difference to the social benefit these organisations can provide.
The work of some of the community organisations Macquarie and/or Macquarie staff support is shown in the videos below, demonstrating the real impact being made to people’s lives around the world.
Asha Community Health & Development Society
Macquarie supports Asha through a grant funding its work in education and maternal and child health care for residents of Delhi’s slums.
The BIG Alliance
Macquarie supports The BIG (Businesses for Islington Giving) Alliance through a grant to Islington Giving, a campaign to alleviate poverty and isolation in the London borough of Islington.
Macquarie’s Leadership, Education, Advancement, Development and Support (LEADS) program is Macquarie’s flagship community program in New York City. It offers an opportunity for high school students, who will be the first generation in their families to attend college, to better understand the links between education choices and career.
Hospicio de San Jose
Macquarie staff in Manila have for several years supported Hospicio de San Jose, an organisation caring for a range of special needs’ residents.
