Macquarie grant partner update: The Funding Network
Global, 19 September 2014
The Funding Network is an initiative with arms in various countries that brings people together at live crowd-funding events to support small, dynamic and local non-profit organisations.
TFN is stimulating innovation in philanthropy by inspiring a movement of active givers who care about supporting solutions to community issues.
Macquarie has supported TFN in Sydney, Melbourne, Perth, and, more recently, Auckland, London and New York City by funding and hosting crowd-funding events.
The Auckland event, hosted by Macquarie Wealth Management, saw four social entrepreneurs present to 100 guests, raising a total of $68,000 (including matching by Macquarie Group Foundation of one-third of the final amount raised).
In addition, Macquarie Auckland’s Brad Gordon was a TFN pitch coach, preparing one of the charities (Tread Lightly Caravan, an environmental non-profit that visits schools in a caravan to teach kids about the environment and their footprint) for its presentation.
