Macquarie announces appointment of Emanuele Di Stefano as Senior Managing Director in its Quantitative Investment Strategies business

London, 30 October 2017

Macquarie Group (“Macquarie”) (ASX: MQG; ADR: MQBKY) today announced the appointment of Emanuele Di Stefano as Senior Managing Director in its Quantitative Investment Strategies (“QIS”) business.

Bringing more than 23 years of experience in QIS, derivatives trading and structuring, Mr. Di Stefano will lead the development of Macquarie’s multi-asset QIS offering to complement its existing Commodity Investor Products business.

He joins Macquarie after seven years with Citi where he was Global Head of the Multi Asset QIS Structuring team. Prior to Citi he led the same team at Deutsche Bank. Mr. Di Stefano will commence employment with Macquarie in London on 2 November 2017 and report to Arun Assumall, Senior Managing Director within the Commodities and Global Markets group.

Mr. Assumall said: “We have a market-leading commodity strategy platform at Macquarie which we are now expanding to include a cross-asset capability. Emanuele is a highly regarded business leader who has been at the forefront of developing quantitative investment strategies as an asset class. He will lead the development of our new multiasset capability and we are delighted to welcome him to Macquarie.”

Macquarie established its Commodity Investor Products business in 2012 and provides a highly differentiated offering for clients with a core focus on Quantitative Strategies. As a result, the platform is being expanded in response to client demand for Macquarie to also offer multi-asset strategies.
