Macquarie Group appoints Thomas Price as Head of Commodities Research

Macquarie Group (“Macquarie”) (ASX: MQG; ADR: MQBKY) today announced it has further strengthened its research capability with the appointment of Thomas Price as Head of Commodities Research.

Mr. Price has enjoyed an extensive career in both the mining and investment banking industries. He joins Macquarie from Morgan Stanley where he was Head of Global Commodities Research for the last three years.

Prior to Morgan Stanley, Mr. Price held senior positions as a Global Commodity Analyst at UBS, Bank Of America Merrill Lynch and CitiGroup; and as an Analyst at AME Mineral Economics. Before entering research, he worked as an exploration geologist in Australia, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan and Russia. Mr. Price holds a Bachelor of Geology from the University of Sydney and a Bachelor of Economics and Finance from the University of Western Australia.

Mr. Price will join Macquarie in London on 2 January 2018, and will report to Ric Deverell, Macquarie’s Chief Economist and Head of Macro Research, and to Shai Hill, Macquarie’s Head of European Research.
