Staff across Macquarie’s Beijing, Hong Kong, Seoul and Singapore offices rolled up their sleeves recently to make practical differences to a range of local charities as part of staff Community Days. More than 1,000 hours and $A70,000 was donated to 20 organisations.
Hundreds of Macquarie staff volunteered for a variety of activities, ranging from mural painting in a women’s hostel to karaoke with the elderly. Other staff members helped refugees with their presentation skills, distributed food packages for people living in isolated communities and gave clothing and toys to disadvantaged families.
Macquarie Group Foundation Asia Senior Manager Susan Clear said the volunteering efforts demonstrated the diverse ways people could make a practical difference to local community organisations.
