Golf tournament helps build new health facility
Philadelphia, 15 October 2014
Employees in Macquarie’s Philadelphia office raised more than $205,000 through a golf tournament to help build a new 6,500-square-foot community health and wellness facility in the heart of Center City Philadelphia.
The beneficiary of the firm’s 10th annual charity golf outing, the Delaware Investments Charity Classic, was La Puentes Salud, an organization that promotes the health of South Philadelphia’s Latino immigrant population through healthcare and educational programs.
The new facility will allow Puentes de Salud to centralize and expand its health and education programs. Last year it provided direct clinical services to more than 4,000 patients and, in the new space, it hopes to help around 10,000 patients annually.
Since its launch in 2005, the annual Charity Classic and Macquarie Group Foundation have raised more than $1.7 million for Philadelphia-area non-profit organizations.
