Managing Director also appointed to Oil & Gas team

London - Macquarie Capital today announced the appointment of Jon Fitzpatrick as Senior Managing Director, Head of Oil & Gas for Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) and Ken Fleming as a Managing Director in the Oil & Gas team.

Commenting on the appointments, David Fass, CEO of Macquarie in EMEA, said: "We are delighted to welcome Jon and Ken, who bring a successful track record of building teams, executing major corporate finance transactions and equity issues and providing strategic financial advice. Their knowledge and expertise in Oil & Gas will prove highly effective as we look to make significant investments in our advisory and research capabilities for this core strategic area.”

Mr. Fitzpatrick and Mr. Fleming will join from Cenkos Securities where they focused on mid-cap Oil & Gas, building the team into the leading NOMAD and broker by number of AIM Oil & Gas clients.

Prior to this, Mr. Fitzpatrick was Head of Energy & Natural Resources at Brewin Dolphin Investment Banking. Based in London, he will drive strategy and execution in Oil & Gas in EMEA, where there is increasing activity and strong prospects for growth in the mid-cap segment.

Mr. Fleming previously worked at Brewin Dolphin Investment Banking and Allied Provincial Securities. He will play an integral part in developing the Oil & Gas team’s franchise in EMEA, focussing on new business, and growing and maintaining strong client and professional relationships.

Robert Dunlop, Global Head of Resources for Macquarie Capital, said: “These appointments reflect our commitment to deepening our firm-wide expertise in Oil & Gas to support clients in completing transactions and facilitating growth. Our global team is a premier adviser to companies across the resources industry and Jon and Ken will add to our reputation for innovation, success and market insight.”
