Macquarie Group Limited (Macquarie) today announced the appointment of Mark Barnaba as Chairman, Western Australia (WA).
Mark has worked for over two decades across various industries in corporate advisory and management consulting roles in Australia, the UK and South Africa. He was previously co-founder and co-Executive Chairman of Azure Capital, a boutique Australian corporate advisory firm.
Based in Perth, Mark will work across all of Macquarie’s range of businesses.

About Mark Barnaba
Mark was a co-founder and co-Executive Chairman of Azure Capital. Prior to Azure Capital, Mark spent time in industry, corporate advisory and management consulting. He spent four years with McKinsey & Company in Australia, the UK and South Africa.
He is also the Chairman of Edge Employment Solutions and Western Power and a non-Executive Director of Fortescue Metals Group and Adept Solutions Ltd. Mark chaired the Steering Committee of the Commonwealth Business Forum for CHOGM in 2011.
Mark, who holds an MBA from Harvard Business School, graduating with high distinction as a Baker Scholar, is Chairman of the University of Western Australia Business School, where he also serves as an Adjunct Professor in Investment Banking and Finance.
His previous positions include inaugural Chairman of Alinta Infrastructure Holdings, Chairman of the West Coast Eagles Football Club and Rhodes Scholarship Selection Committee member. In 2009 Mark was the recipient of the WA Citizen of the Year Award in Industry and Commerce.
