Macquarie Securities, the institutional equities arm of Macquarie Group (“Macquarie”) (ASX: MQG; ADR: MQBKY), today announced the appointment of Christine Farkas as Head of US Equity Research.
Ms. Farkas joins Macquarie from BMO Capital Markets, where she headed US Equity Research since September 2012. Prior to BMO Capital Markets, Ms. Farkas was a senior and highly ranked equity analyst at Bank of America Merrill Lynch for more than 17 years. During her career she has covered numerous sectors in consumer, energy technology and industrial areas. She has been recognized by Institutional Investor, Greenwich Associates, FT Starmine and The Wall Street Journal’s “Best on the Street” surveys for her research.
Andrew Root, Managing Director and Head of US Equities, said: “Christine brings a proven background in fundamental equity research and the managerial capabilities to drive client vote momentum and profitability. Her appointment furthers our commitment to delivering differentiated, globally relevant content to US buy-side institutions.” Mr. Root previously served as Macquarie’s Head of US Equity Research.
Ms. Farkas holds a bachelor of commerce from McGill University and is also a CFA charterholder. She begins her position at Macquarie on January 11.
