Macquarie Capital appoints Head of Consumer and Retail in Europe

Macquarie Capital, the corporate advisory, capital markets and principal investment arm of Macquarie Group, has announced the appointment of Magnus Scaddan as a Managing Director and head of consumer/retail in Europe. Mr. Scaddan will be based in London and lead the advisory, capital markets and principal investment strategy across this industry segment. 

Mr. Scaddan joins Macquarie Capital from the independent advisory and asset management firm Perella Weinberg Partners, where he was a Managing Director with responsibility for consumer and retail clients in Europe Middle East and Africa (EMEA). Prior to Perella Weinberg, Mr. Scaddan headed the consumer and retail team for EMEA at Lehman Brothers and Nomura, and held a similar role also led the effort at investment bank Houlihan Lokey.

With over 25 years advising corporate clients, Mr. Scaddan will have wide-ranging coverage responsibilities across Macquarie Capital’s food, beverage, household, personal care and retail sector clients, targeting advisory, financing and principal investment mandates with strategic and private equity clients.

Mr. Scaddan’s joining adds to Macquarie Capital’s growing global capabilities with recent appointments made across sectors (including Robert Bayer and Ajay Singh in Industrials and John Katzenmeyer in Financial Technology), geographies (including Fokke Eijsink in the Benelux) and emerging growth areas (such as Greg Callman as Global Head of Energy Technology and Oliver Bradley for Digital Infrastructure).
