Tips to navigate your new home loan

How to make managing your home loan simple

Finding the home of your dreams and having your home loan application approved is such an exciting stage of life. We know that when you get a home loan, you also get a lot of information to process, such as how to make your repayments, when they’ll be due and the functionality of your new account. With this in mind, we’ve created some tips to help you navigate your Macquarie home loan and make sure you’re using all the features of your new account.

Make sure you're using all the features of your new account.

Tip 1: Set up your Macquarie Online account

We’ll send your online banking login details with your loan formal approval documents. This includes your Macquarie ID, which you’ll need to use when you log in. You’ll be able to set up your password during this initial login stage. Once your loan has settled and you’ve set up your account, there’s a range of different things you can do using online banking, including:

  • activate your cards
  • see your recent transactions and loan details
  • view your repayment details.

Tip 2: Set up a monthly direct debit for your repayments

This is an easy way to make your home loan repayments – once you’ve set it up they’ll automatically debit from your nominated account. You can do this through Macquarie Online, by giving us a call, or by filling out the repayment election form and returning it to us. The form is available online or in the loan documentation pack.

Tip 3: Set up your offset accounts

If you have an offset home loan package and would like an additional offset account, you can open one online. All you need to do is open a transaction account here and then once it’s been opened, give us a call or send us an email to link the account to your home loan. You can have up to 10 offset accounts and you can elect for them to come with a linked Debit Mastercard.

With $0 international transaction fees when you shop or withdraw cash overseas using your Debit Mastercard, our transaction account is the ideal travel companion.

If you don’t have an offset home loan, you can still experience the fantastic benefits of our transaction account – simply apply via the link above.

Tip 4: Download the Macquarie Mobile Banking app

Designed for the way we live today, our cutting-edge digital app makes managing your money effortless. You can access your accounts, search and tag transactions, download statements, upload receipts and more, all from the palm of your hand. Download the app today from your app store.
