Credit card FAQs: Managing your card

Here’s a few things to know about managing your Macquarie credit card

How do I get a cash advance?

You can get a cash advance from your card at any ATM that accepts Visa, by using your card and your card PIN. Alternatively, you can also request a cash advance over the counter at any bank that accepts Visa, using your card and providing your signature and photo identification. Fees and charges apply.

What is the limit for a cash advance?

The daily limit for cash advances is $1,000 through an ATM and $5,000 over the counter at a bank.

How often will I receive a statement?

You will receive a credit card statement monthly if you have made transactions during that period.

Can I change my bill due date?

Yes, you can nominate the date that your monthly bill is due by contacting us on 1300 150 300. Please select a date between the 1st and the 28th.

Can I receive my statement by email?

To receive email notification that your statement is ready, please login to Macquarie Online and select Statements from the right hand menu, or contact us on 1300 150 300.

Will my additional cardholder also get a statement?

No, only the primary cardholder receives a monthly statement. This statement will contain details of any transactions made by the primary cardholder and any additional cardholders.

Does the additional cardholder have the same level of access as the primary cardholder?

Any additional cardholders have the same access to information about your account. However, they are restricted from making any changes (such as change of address) to your account.

How do I pay my account?

  • Direct Debit - This automatically pays your card account every month by the due date, from the bank account of your choice. With this flexible option you can choose to pay any amount equal to or greater than the minimum payment due. To request a direct debit, please complete the Direct Debit Request Form.
  • BPAY® - This can be done through phone or internet banking (directly from your bank). Your reference number is your 16-digit card number (which is the same as the account number printed on your statement) and the biller code is 423251.
  • Post - Please ensure you enclose your completed payment slip from your monthly statement and mail with your cheque (no notes or coins accepted) to GPO Box 4690, Sydney NSW 2001. Please make the cheque payable to Macquarie Bank and include your account number. Please allow five business days for the payment to be processed.
  • Post office – For payments made at any Australia Post using cash or EFTPOS, please allow two business days for the payment to reach your account. When paying by cheque at any Australia Post, please allow six business days for the cheque to clear though funds will be considered received the day the cheque is deposited. A $2 over-the-counter transaction fee is applicable to all cash, EFTPOS or cheque payments made at Australia Post. Ensure that you bring your paper statement to Australia Post so that your payment can be processed.

What is an outstanding authorisation?

This is when the estimated value of a purchase – for example, a hotel stay – has been held for a period of days to allow the merchant to process the transaction. An outstanding authorisation reduces the cardholder's available credit, but does not affect the balance owing on the card.

Can I authorise a third party to access information about my account?

Yes, you can authorise a third party to access information about your account by completing an Authorised Representative Request Form.

How can I order a replacement credit card?

If your card is damaged for any reason, please call us on 1300 150 300 and a replacement card will be sent to you within seven business days.

Who do I contact if my card is lost or stolen?

If your card is lost or stolen, please contact us immediately (24 hours a day, seven days a week) on 1300 150 300 or, if you are calling from overseas, +61 2 8232 1684.

Can I link my account to another Macquarie product?

Your credit card cannot be linked directly to other Macquarie products at this time. However, if you wish to automatically pay the balance of your account from your Macquarie Cash Management Account or other Macquarie account, you can request a direct debit.

Can I see details of my credit card account online?

You are able to view your balance, transactions, payment information and request electronic statements, via Macquarie Online.

Can I make future dated payments via BPAY?

Unfortunately, you are currently unable to make future payments using internet or telephone banking.
