Applying for a credit card
How do I apply for a Macquarie credit card?
You can apply online for all of our credit cards. To start your application, select a card:
- Macquarie Black Card
- Macquarie Platinum Card
- Hilton Honors® Macquarie Platinum Card
- Macquarie RateSaver Card
Alternatively, you can apply for any Macquarie credit card, except the Hilton Honors Macquarie Platinum Card, by calling 1300 150 300, Monday to Friday between 8.30 am and 5.30pm AEST.
What is a Macquarie ID?
A Macquarie ID identifies you as a Macquarie client and is used to access our self service banking facilities. If you are an existing Macquarie client, then you will have already been issued with a Macquarie ID.
Can I apply if my previous address is an overseas address?
We require your current residential address to be an Australian address. Please provide details of your overseas address in the 'previous residential address' fields on your application form.
What is an 'additional cardholder'?
An additional cardholder is any other person you authorise to make transactions on your account. They will be issued with their own card and all transactions will be charged to your account.
To request an additional cardholder, please provide us with their details in the 'Additional Cardholder' section of your application form or complete an Additional Cardholder Request Form or apply via Macquarie Online. The annual fees for an additional cardholder are:

Can I get a card for my partner and children?
If they are 18 years of age or over, your partner or child may be eligible to apply for their own card.
Alternatively, you can authorise your partner or a child of 16 years of age or over to be an additional cardholder on your account. Please provide us with their details in the 'Additional Cardholder' section of your application form or complete an Additional Cardholder Request Form.
I'm a franchisee – what do I put as my employment status?
Please select 'self employed'.
How long does it take to receive my card?
We make every effort to process applications within 10 working days of receipt of all required information. To assist us in processing your application quickly, please complete your application form in full.
How is my credit limit determined?
Your credit limit is determined by the information provided in the application form and in accordance with our credit policy. You will be notified of your credit limit if your application is approved.
Can I find out my limit before I apply?
No, you cannot find out your limit before you apply. You have the option to nominate a preferred credit limit during the application process. If you do not nominate a preferred credit limit, you will be assigned the maximum credit limit based on Macquarie's credit criteria and unsuitability assessment. If your application is approved, you will be notified of your credit limit when you receive your card.
Can I apply for a higher credit limit?
After six months, you can apply to have your credit limit increased.
