Scott Featherstone (Financial Management Group)

“I began my time at Macquarie as a Summer Intern before re-joining as a Graduate the following year after completing a Bachelor of Business, majoring in Finance and Accounting.”

“The highlight of my career so far at Macquarie has been the vast array of different teams and roles that I have been exposed to. Being part of a rotation programme in my first year as a Graduate, in addition to my internship, has seen me undertake roles in Project Management, Financial Planning and Analysis, Data Management and Financial Control. I have picked up a wide range of professional skills that I feel has put me in great stead to confidently contribute to the business moving forward.

“As a Finance Graduate, I have been fully supported by Macquarie and the Financial Management Group to continue my learning and development by enrolling in the Chartered Accountants program. This has included both financial and teaching support, which thus far has been extremely helpful.

“I have also been part of the Graduate Volunteer Network here at Macquarie where I have acted as the Treasurer and, together with the rest of the Graduate cohort, assisted in raising more than $A150,000 for various charities throughout the year.”

Simran Dhillon (Banking and Financial Services)

“I started at Macquarie as a business banking Summer Intern in 2017 and continued part-time during my last year of university. After graduating with a Bachelor of Laws and Bachelor of Commerce (Finance) from UNSW, I commenced as a Graduate.”

“My journey at Macquarie so far has been full of different experiences.

“While on my internship, I had the opportunity to work on deals across a variety of industries including real estate, strata, legal, financial planning, accounting and insurance broking. This opportunity enhanced my industry knowledge and allowed me to develop a strong platform to be an analyst within business banking.

“The Graduate Program at Macquarie has given me the opportunity to build on the skills I gained as an Intern by rotating through four different teams across the Banking and Financial Services group over two years.

“My first rotation was as a client and risk analyst in business banking where I worked on several new projects, attended client meetings and conferences, and took on complex transactions. I am now in my second rotation in personal banking as a credit analyst where I have enhanced my credit skillset and developed a deeper understanding of the personal banking space at Macquarie.

“In 2020, I will have my third rotation in Banking and Financial Services funding and then, my fourth rotation in wealth management. This two-year invaluable experience will give me a deeper understanding of the different functions and areas of the Banking and Financial Services group.

“I am also an active member of the Graduate Volunteer Network where I have been involved in organising several fundraising initiatives throughout the year. I am currently involved in creating and distributing Macquarie’s Healthy Minds Notebook where all proceeds will help support our chosen charity, batyr. Our fundraising goal for this initiative is $A50,000.”
