Youth index paints disturbing picture

London, 30 January 2014

A report finding disturbing levels of mental health issues among unemployed young people was released in January as part of the Prince's Trust Macquarie Youth Index, which documents the views and concerns of over 2,000 young people in the UK.

The Macquarie Group Foundation funds the annual Youth Index, which is used to help address the challenges faced by young people. The report's launch at an event attended by young people, politicians, policy makers, health agencies and employers at Westminster was of great public interest and the most shared story on the BBC on the day of its release.

The Foundation has partnered with The Prince's Trust over the last eight years, funding its Enterprise programme for young people interested in setting up their own business. The partnership is part of a spectrum of Macquarie engagement with young people, alongside its business mentoring programmes with secondary school students.
