Banking on aging supports older adults in NYC

New York, 10 November 2014

A ‘Banking on Aging’ anniversary gala ball held at Manhattan’s Mandarin Oriental in November helped raise more than $730,000 for the Carter Burden Center for the Aging.

A six-strong Macquarie fundraising team comprising Michael McLaughlin, Walter Pye, David Meneret, Rob Perdock, Anthony Lennon and Jamie Marley contributed more than $261,000 to support the cause.

Funds raised will help the Carter Burden Center continue to provide its continuum of services, advocacy and volunteer programs that help support seniors aged 60 and older to live safely and with dignity.

Macquarie’s US Country Head Mike McLaughlin was also honored at the anniversary gala with a Business Leadership Award, while Walter Pye chaired the event.

Since 2010, Macquarie employees and the Foundation have actively volunteered with the Center and the Carter Burden Gallery, a unique art space that shows only the work of mature artists.
