"I moved to London when I was 18 to study maths and physics at UCL. Before moving to Australia permanently and taking up a role at Macquarie, I worked in a scientific role for an agency in the UK.
I’m trusted and empowered by the people I work for to make decisions and ‘to make things happen’. I work with a team of really great people who I respect and admire.
My working arrangements are very flexible. I work part time, and am able to work from home or arrive late if I need to. I also take early or late calls during the week – it all balances out.
I’ve been involved with various charity initiatives through the years and feel very lucky that Macquarie is generous in supporting staff fundraising efforts. I’ve been involved as a committee member for the charities FSHD and the Royal Hospital for Women Foundation, helping to organise fundraising events. Macquarie recognise these efforts by matching a proportion of the funds raised by these events.”

"I studied science and engineering at the University of Sydney. As a child I enjoyed mathematics so I wanted to be a scientist or an engineer. I have been lucky that working at Macquarie has allowed me to continue to follow my interests in ways that I had not previously considered.”

"I mentioned to the head of my department in passing that I was interested in brand management. Within two days I was on a conference call with the North American marketing team, and within a week I found myself conducting analysis on a global brand management project. As I was told in my first week, “you make your own luck at Macquarie”. My advice to someone joining Macquarie is to be curious and open minded. Take ownership of tasks and be proactive, both in areas you’d like to work on and in the multitude of non-work activities going on at Macquarie."

"I studied Science and Psychology at university. During my internship at Macquarie, I was able to use my skills in psychology and data analytics to analyse results of global surveys and present recommendations back to the business. I was given the opportunity to have a voice and take ownership of tasks on big projects from day one. Even as a student, people treated me like a colleague and asked me for my perspective."
