Michael Silverton is a Senior Managing Director in the Chicago office where he co-manages the firm's Restructuring Advisory and Special Situations team with Mick Solimene. Michael has over 10 years transaction experience working across various Macquarie business areas including the Risk Management Division, Strategy Unit, Financial Products and currently the Capital Advisory group. Michael relocated from the London office earlier this year. While in London, Michael worked on the Eurotunnel restructuring plan.

Phil Van Winkle is a Managing Director in the Chicago office. Phil has over 18 years experience working as an investor and advisor in highly leveraged, stressed and distressed situations and was actively involved in the formation, oversight and management of Endeavour LLC ('Endeavour'), a US$470 million distressed debt fund. Phil has also provided debt restructuring, reorganization, and strategic advisory services to companies and their creditors. He has particular experience and expertise in strategic and operational realignments, financial restructuring, refinancings and asset dispositions, including extensive experience with 363(b) asset sales, and valuation work. He is a member of the Turnaround Management Association and the American Bankruptcy Institute.

James Placio is a Managing Director in the Chicago office. James has over 13 years of experience in restructuring and distressed investing. He has focused on identifying and executing control-oriented distressed investments as well as par and non-control distressed leveraged loan investments across a variety of industries. James has also focused on advising troubled companies and participating in restructuring situations in and out of bankruptcy. Prior to joining Macquarie, he was a Director at Black Diamond Capital Management LLC, an alternative asset manager and significant investor in distressed credit, with responsibilites for distressed trading and portfolio management activities. Prior to joining Black Diamond in early 2004, James spent over 6 years with Ernst and Young Corporate Finance, LLC where he was a key member of the Endeavour investment team.

Chris Eckstrom is a Senior Vice President in the Chicago office. Chris has over 10 years of experience in restructuring and distressed investing. Prior to joining Macquarie, Chris was a Senior Analyst at Black Diamond Capital Management, responsible for actively managing a US$800 million portfolio of par and distressed assets, from the underwriting stage to the eventual liquidity event. The investments were primarily first and second lien leveraged corporate loans as well as unsecured senior notes, across a variety of industries including: forest products, chemicals, agriculture, packaging, food/beverage/tobacco and aerospace/defense. Prior to his tenure at Black Diamond Capital Management, Chris was a Vice President at Guiliani Capital Advisors LLC ('GCA'), focused on advising troubled companies and stakeholders in the United States and the European Union. Prior to GCA, Chris was a Senior Analyst at Tucker Anthony Sutro, a middle-market investment banking firm, focusing on healthy and distressed mergers and acquisitions, public and private equity offerings and fairness opinions.

Jonathan Morrison is a Senior Vice President in the Chicago office. Jonathan has over 15 years of corporate finance and restructuring advisory experience in the United States and internationally across various industries including steel, paper, consumer products, restaurants and retailers. Jonathan has managed a broad range of corporate finance assignments including corporate restructuring for debtors as well as creditors and merger and acquisition engagements for healthy and distressed companies. He has particular experience and expertise in operational restructurings, asset sales in bankruptcy and capital-raising. Additionally, Jonathan was a key member of the Endeavour investment team. He has earned the Chartered Financial Analyst designation and is a member of the Investment Analysts Society of Chicago.
