Macquarie is entrepreneurial and fast-paced with a casual attitude.  It has the capabilities and drive of a fast-paced bulge bracket investment bank but the entrepreneurial structure and environment of a middle market or boutique firm.  Adding to this unique mix of cultures is a casual, but professional attitude where there is no hierarchy between the ranks and a collegial relationship amongst your peers.  Macquarie’s flat structure promotes interaction and collaboration with the entire deal team, from Analyst to Managing Director, unlike bulge bracket cultures where Analysts work almost exclusively with Associates.  Adding to this unique culture is a great working environment which boasts a well stocked beer fridge and ping pong table which always makes for an interesting Friday afternoon.

As a second year analyst, I worked on six completed transactions and currently working on four others.  This level of deal flow has given me great transaction experience and exposure to several different types of transactions and industry sub-sectors.  Some highlights of my experience include two public company M&A transactions, one for $400 million and the other for approximately $250 million. 

The level of experience and client interaction I’ve had as an Analyst, and the types and sizes of deals I have worked on is one of the best things about working at Macquarie.
