Working on Macquarie’s Energy Desk in New York is about as exciting as it gets! I’m fully immersed in the world’s hottest market, so every day is completely different than anything I’ve experienced before. Macquarie has 24-hour international coverage of energy, so I work closely with our offices in Sydney, London, and Los Angeles. The goal of my business is to understand a consumer or producer’s exposure to the highly volatile energy markets, and develop risk management strategies to effectively hedge that exposure. The inherent challenges make my job continually exciting and all the more rewarding.

I love working at Macquarie because of the unique opportunities it provides in so many facets. The atmosphere and camaraderie on the trading floor is unparalleled. Macquarie prizes entrepreneurship and innovation, and works as a meritocracy. The hands on training you receive from upper management is unreal. As such, I am doing things in my young career that I wouldn’t dream of doing at another bank even 5 years from now. Macquarie is a place where you don’t have to just be a cog in a wheel; you can go as far as your ability and confidence take you.
