Recruitment Process

At Macquarie, we believe our most valuable assets leave the building at the end of each day. We recruit and retain people who will thrive in the Macquarie culture and support our goals and values. To help us find you, we use a combination of resume screening, interviews and psychometric assessment.

Our recruitment is not based solely on academic achievements. Instead we aim to find candidates who satisfy a broad range of criteria and can make a positive and on-going contribution to the organization.

We believe that all persons are entitled to equal employment opportunities and we do not discriminate against our employees or applicants because of their race, color, sex, religion, national origin, disability,  age, or any other protected group status as defined by law.

Although the precise timeline, number of steps and evaluation process varies across the organization, our standard recruitment process reflects the following:

Application: For Full Time Applicants or 2011 Intern Applicants, please click the appropriate link located on the right hand navigation menu to read about our opportunities and access the online application.  (If we are interviewing on your campus, please refer to your university’s career services to apply.)

Interviews: The interview process is an opportunity for you to learn more about our organization, identify the opportunities available to you within our organization and for us to further explore your skills and experience. Interviews will generally take place with representatives from both HR and the individual businesses.

Assessment: Psychometric assessment is a normal part of the selection process at Macquarie and provides additional objective, reliable and relevant information about the likelihood of job success and satisfaction within the Macquarie environment.

Psychometric assessment at Macquarie is available in a variety of languages. Below are example questions in each of the languages offered to assist you in choosing the most appropriate language for your skill level. Generally, this will be your native language and should not be impacted by the location of the position you are applying for. You should only complete the assessment in English if that is your strongest language. Please inform the recruitment contact of your preferred language when booking your assessment session.

Tips:

  • Ensure you are sitting the assessment in your native/preferred language
  • Bring reading glasses if required. All other materials will be provided
  • Get a good night’s sleep, wear comfortable clothing, and eat something prior to the assessment
  • Reschedule the assessment if you are unwell or facing circumstances which may adversely impact your performance as applicants have just one opportunity to complete the assessment
  • Ensure you bring a valid form of photo identification with you to the assessment (assessment can not be conducted without it)
  • Macquarie is committed to working with and providing reasonable adjustments to individuals with disabilities. If, because of a medical condition or disability, you need a reasonable adjustment for any aspect of our employment process, please send an e-mail to Human Resources, USLateralRecruitment@macquarie.com or call 1-(212) 231-2038 and inform us of your requested adjustment as well as your contact information.
